Luminaria is scheduled for Friday, December 6 at 6:30 pm – this year marking the 40th anniversary! We need your help to accomplish this beautiful display. We are looking for volunteers to help bring the holiday spirit to Streamwood by lining the median of Park Boulevard with 3,000 luminarias, from Lake Street to Schaumburg Road. Once set up and lit—this really is a spectacular sight! The candles continue to glow for hours into the night.
If you would like to participate by either assembling luminaria bags, starting Thursday, November 7, and/or to place and light the candles at an assigned location on December 6, please contact the Village President’s office at mayor@streamwood.org or 630-736-3801.
Luminaria bag assembly will take place in the garage behind Village Hall, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Our goal is to have the bags complete by November 27. Island assignments, for placing/lighting luminaria, will be announced shortly thereafter.
On December 6, the entire Municipal Campus will be filled with light, as luminaria line Village Hall, the Police Station, and Veterans Memorial. We hope you join us!
