Calling all movie buffs! Summer nights are perfect for catching a flick outdoors, and several communities near us are hosting Movies in the Park events. Grab a blanket, pack a picnic basket, and cozy up under the stars for a fun and free family outing. OR you can check out the special movie discounts at the local theaters. If you were hesitant with taking the kids to the theater before, this makes it easy on you and your wallet (especially if you have to cut out early because of some wild and crazy antics (or anxiety - like me - having not been to the theaters since 2018... I know I'm not the only one! I might be willing to check it out now with the change I'll have them find in the cushions!).

- Bloomingdale: Roll into Old Town Park for a night at the movies with the monthly Movies in the Park series starting at 8:45 PM (dusk).

8/8: Mean Girls - Streamwood: Pack up the kids and head to Hoosier Grove Park at 8:30 PM for their Summer Movies in the Park Series to catch a couple of fun flicks!

7/18: Elemental - Rolling Meadows: Come see Migration at Movie Night with the Cops! Meet up with the Rolling Meadows Police Department, bring the whole family, some blankets, and lawn chairs for a relaxing evening watching a movie, enjoying free popcorn and cotton candy.
- Arlington Heights: Rolling out the red carpet and splash zone for Movie in the Park with Super Mario Brothers on August 16 at 8:30 PM and Movie at the Pool with Moana at Frontier on July 23.
