There are a number of locations hosting events and offering free eclipse glasses. Be sure to pick up your cool shades and sign up or show up to join in the fun of this celestial phenomenon!

Schaumburg Library has glasses to offer through their registration and is partnering with Harper College for a watch party in the Harper Quad. Bring a picnic, look through telescopes, enjoy crafts and storytimes and ask all of your eclipse-related questions! Harper College 1200 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine, IL | 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Arlington Heights Memorial Library is hosting a watch party at North School Park where attendees can complete activities, learn about the solar eclipse including how to view the eclipse safely, and take a photo at our photo station. In case of inclement weather, watch a live feed of the eclipse and do activities in the Hendrickson Room. Register ahead of time to recieve glasses upon arrival. Roselle Public Library is hosting a Sun Celebration! Stop by the Library to safely observe the solar eclipse with the community! The Library will have a limited number of free eclipse glasses available the day of the eclipse (maximum of 4 pairs per family). 40 S. Park St., Roselle | 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Poplar Creek Public Library is hosting a watch party. Registration is required and participants will receive glasses and will be able to use the library's telescope to view the eclipse. 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM They will also be having the NASA Live Stream showing in the main Meeting Room. Registration requested but drop-ins are welcome. 1405 S Park Ave, Streamwood | 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

3. Local Parks and Recreation Centers:Several parks and recreation centers in Schaumburg may organize outdoor viewing events for the solar eclipse.
