Can you feel it? That warm breeze, the blooming flowers, and yes, the buzz of excitement in the air – spring is nearly here! And with it comes that special time we've all been counting down to... spring break! It's the perfect pause in our busy lives for some unforgettable family fun. 

Lucky for us, the Schaumburg Area is just bursting at the seams with activities, camps, and attractions tailor-made for families on break. While it's still a month away, many of the programs are open for registration and I don't want you to miss out!

Whether you're on the hunt for engaging spring break camps to spark your little ones' imaginations, on the lookout for fun (and free!) things to do, or eager to explore the best family-friendly spots around town, you've hit the jackpot. Spring Break Camps in the Schaumburg Area

We have a variety of spring break camps that not only keep your children engaged but also foster learning and creativity:

Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights Park District Spring Break Camp | March 25-29

This all day camp is a mini version of the Park District’s Summer Day Camp Program. Each day we’ll have sporting activities, crafts, movies, and go outside-weather permitting. Come have fun with us! Campers should bring their own lunch. The Camp is for children in Grades K-5th. Location: Pioneer Park. 


Arlington Heights Park District Spring Break Sampler History Camp | March 25-29


Spring break can be a busy time so the Sampler Camp can easily fit into your family's schedule. Sign up for one day, all five or any other combination, to fit your needs. Each day will have a different theme filled with games, crafts, and fun--a small sampling of our summer camp offerings! Campers should bring two snacks plus lunch. Location: History Museum

Monday: Adventures in Art, Tuesday: World Explorers, Wednesday: Secrets of the Museum, Thursday: Pioneer Adventure, Friday: Fizz, Flash Bang! Soda Pop Science 

Metropolis Performing Arts Center Lights Up! Spring Break Camps | March 25-29

Each year, the School of the Performing Arts offers various performing arts camps for children ages 4 – grade 8, where they learn social skills, collaborate and create dynamic performances.

Bloomingdale

Bloomingdale Park District - Spring Break Flag Football Camp | March 25-28

Come join in on the fun and start playing the nation's most loved game! Players are introduced to stance, receiving, rushing, blocking, and defense. Generally, each class ends with a scrimmage, which encourages teamwork and sportsmanship. Players get to play either receiver or running back every day. Games focus on fundamentals, field concepts, positions, and mechanics. No equipment necessary (but cleats are recommended). Campers will be divided into groups based on age, size, and ability. Campers should bring a snack and water bottle. Every camper will receive a t-shirt and daily prizes. NOTE: Friday will be used in the event of a rainout earlier in the week.

Bloomingdale Park District via Roselle Park District - Young Rembrandts – Spring Pastel Camp: Ocean Life | Mar 25, 27, 29

Through a partnership with the Roselle Park District, Bloomingdale Park District residents are invited to enroll in Young Rembrandt programs at the resident rate. This brand-new pastel workshop is sure to please! Draw colorful clown fish, sea turtles, and much more! 555 W Bryn Mawr Ave, Roselle, IL 60172. Registration Deadline: Three days prior to start date.

Bloomingdale Park District - Camp Cooking with Friends Winter Break & Spring Break Editions | March 25-26

Calling all youth interested in learning how to cook, bake and explore the kitchen! Participants learn how to prepare new foods and desserts. Each day we will make three recipes. All supplies are included in the fee. Long hair must be tied up. Please let us know of any food allergies at the time of registration. Registration deadline is one week prior to the class.

Life Time Fitness (Bloomingdale) | March 25-29

Life Time Fitness’ school break and summer camps are a blast for kids and convenient for parents. Visit the website to select a camp to register for a single day, multiple days, or a full week. Campers must be active Junior Members. 

Elk Grove

Elk Grove Park District - Kids’ Club School Days Off | March 25-28

School Days Off is a program held at the Pavilion during the school year for children grades K-5 when CCSD59 has a scheduled day off due to a holiday, break, or an institute day. Participants can choose either a full-day or school-day option, depending on their needs.

Elk Grove Park District - Aqua Break Camp 102102 | March 25-29

No Spring Break Plans? Your kids can still have all the fun of an exciting trip to the pool right here! This camp is one week of water loving fun. You can either sign up for one day or the whole week! Please send a bagged lunch with your child.

Kennedy’s Martial Arts Academy | March 25-29

Spring Break is just around the corner!  Need an exciting place for your kids to spend their day?  Join us for our Spring Break Camp!  A safe and exciting place for kids to spend their days off school.  Learn martial arts, self-defense and more! We have a lot of fun activities and field trips planned.

Pro Swim Academy Swim Camp | March 25-29

Camp swim lessons are same day, same time, same teacher for 5 days straight! Spring break swim camp classes are currently offered between 9:30am-12:00pm the week of 3/25-3/29 2024. Limited spots available, first come first serve basis.

Hoffman Estates

Hoffman Estates Park District - District 15 & 54 STAR-Days Off School Field Trips

Full Day programs available to students in District 15 & 54 STAR Programs with field trips to Waterworks, AMC Theater, Enchanted Castle, Parkour, Scene 75, Shedd Aquarium, Ultimate Ninja and Laser X. Register for one or all days. 

Rolling Meadows

Rolling Meadows Park District - School’s Out Adventures

The School's Out Adventures field trips and day camps offer a fun, engaging atmosphere for children ages 6-12. Morning and afternoon care are available. Register for one or all days. Field Trips include: Safari Land, Wheeling Indoor Pool, Enchanted Castle, Dunn Museum, AMC Theatre

Roselle

Roselle Park District - Spring Break Camp

If you’re not heading out of town for Spring Break, join us for Spring Break Camp where every day feels like a vacation! Register for one or all days, Full or Half. Ages 6-14. Field Trips include: Elk Grove Movie Theater, Adventure Island, Cantigny Park, Bartlett Water Park, Bowlero.

Schaumburg

Schaumburg Park District Spring Break Camps | March 25-29

Schaumburg Campanelli YMCA - Kasper School Days Out | March 25-29

Work without worry with Y camp, we are here for you. Swimming, creative activities, arts and crafts, and more are in store for your kids while they are out of school. With the Y School Days Off Camp, they will beat the school break blues! Our program follows the District 54 school calendar. Open to all the Community! From 7 am to 6pm

Spring Break Fun

Parks and Playgrounds

Our suburbs boast an array of beautiful parks and playgrounds where families can enjoy picnics, leisurely walks, and playtime. Hoping the weather is great that week, here are a few of our favorites:

Schaumburg | Spring Valley Nature Center - You'll see us here at least once a week!

Roselle | Turner Park Playground is slated to open soon! A walk around the lake is lovely as well!

Arlington Heights | It's .8 mi around Pioneer Park if you are looking to get that step count up!  

Rolling Meadows | Renovated in 2023, Cardinal Drive Park is a beaut' and I can't lie - the fence around it is great for the wandering tot!

Hoffman Estates | Vogelei Park's Farming themed playground is a hit with the family

Streamwood | Commissioner's Park is tucked away, but has everything from adaptive options, permanent cornhole set, and ninja obstacle course

Elk Grove Village | So many trails to choose from at Busse Woods, and keep an eye out for the Elk! (BUT DON'T FEED THEM!)

Looking for family fun events happening during spring break? Being so close to Easter you'll see a number of bunny themed events popping up. Here are a few standout events to make the week special:

Indoor Activities in for Yucky Days

Spring weather can be unpredictable, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop. There are several indoor attractions that are ideal for keeping the little ones entertained on rainy days:

Streamwood's Park Place Aquatic Center has extended hours the week of March 25-30

Elk Grove's Jumps and Jiggles has the carousel and play area which is easy to keep the kids occupied

Schaumburg is seeing more kid-friendly stores open up at Woodfield, Dave & Busters is opening at the end of February, and the Schaumburg Waterworks will give you more fun in the pool!

Hoffman Estates Main Event has features geared toward kids of all ages (adults too!)

Lake Geneva | Approx. Driving Time: 1 hr 10 mins Attractions: Shopping, Waterfront dining, Lakeland Park Indoor Playground is calling our name!

Milwaukee | Approx. Driving Time: 1 hr 30 mins | Musicals, Food, Tours galore!
