Thanks to the numerous indoor & outdoor trick-or-treating events around town and the generosity of our neighbors, our kids end up with LOADS of candy on Halloween. As fun as it is to collect as many treats as possible, it's more candy than any of us could ever eat.

So, the question is What shall we do with so many candies?

Donate your candy

Turn your candy in at a local participating Halloween Buy Back Program location; enter your ZIP code to find a drop-off location near you.  Buy-Back participants buy back kids' Halloween candy at a scheduled event with cash, xylitol products, coupons, toothbrushes, or other creative exchanges. Candy gets send to our Troops and Veterans via Operation Shoebox.

Serenity Dental Studio from Schaumburg will be putting on a Halloween Candy Buyback celebration Nov. 3rd from 1- 4 pm and collecting candy from Nov. 1-15 during regular office hours. 1 lb = $1.00. The candy will be sent to US troops overseas with "Packages 4 Patriots", so please show your patriotism and turn in excess candy for a cause!

Bonus: To win a special prize enter a Coloring Contest Entry (below) by Nov. 15th to Serenity Dental Studio! *All other Coloring Contest entries will also be sent to troops overseas with "Packages 4 Patriots" so please feel free to distribute!*

ChiroCenter from Hanover Park are also collecting candies via Halloween Buy Back Program. They will donate the candy to our troops overseas through Operation Shoebox. Bring your candies to their local office at 7315 Cumberland Dr, Hanover Park, IL, 60133 .

Repurpose your candy

Turn your chocolate loot into "Day After Halloween" brownies. Though not entirely eliminating the sugar-rush, repurposing your chocolates for a decadent dessert is fun and tasty.

Count down with your candy.

Let your candy take you straight into the next holiday! Savor your candies by opening one per day leading up to "Turkey Day" by creating your own Thanksgiving countdown.

Build with your candy.

Plan ahead. Christmas is just a few quick weeks away from Halloween, so hang on to candies that won't spoil. Hard candies can help you spruce up your gingerbread house creations.
