Brick or Treat - Chicago Legoland Discovery Center - Review

By Marcela Naste, publisher for Schaumburg - Hoffman Estates October 18, 2019

October is my favorite month, not only because it’s my weeding anniversary :-),  but there are so many kids activities going, In and Out. Many of them Free or Cheap, all you need is time to go and check them all. In the last weeks I had taken my girls to different farms, pumpkin patches, trick and treats events, but this week we've said we should try something indoor. Chicago Legoland Discovery Center was kind enough to invite us to check their Halloween event - Brick or Treat, which is occurring until Oct 31, 2019.

From the moment we've stepped in the land of legos, I personally was thrilled with the display of Chicago Downtown made out of Legos (and Yes, it was my very first time to Legoland and I am usually very easy to impress) in the MiniLand; all the details, buildings, city architecture, roads, the bean and so list can go on.

But the 2nd floor was the main attraction, of course. The Play Area, with the different sections, each of them thought for a specific age:

Duplo Village: suitable for kids between 2-5yrs old; they can play & slide around the cottage, or build a colorful Duplo.

Pirate Adventure Island: suitable for all ages. You can enjoy a coffee and a conversation with a friend, check your phone or even work on your laptop or just relax, because the kids will be very busy to explore all the island's play area. I am saying all these because this Wednesday, when we’ve pay a visit, the place was not crowded at all, and I have been told that usually in the weekends maybe a lot crowed.

Merlin Apprentice Ride: with height limitation for those 36 inches to ride with an adult and 48 inches to ride alone.

Lego Racers: Build & Test: kids can create their own ultra-fast Lego racing car and test it on the track.

The Glow in the dark room was again a great entertainment for the kids; all the lego pieces where glowing in the dark, a Halloween theme decorated room.

There are varies locations, from where the kids can collect free Lego pieces to build their own Halloween Lego creation to take home.

The admission ticket includes the Lego 4D cinema as well. Enjoy exciting LEGO movies with additional wind, rain and snow effects to really bring it to life and put you at the center of the action!

Of course that there are other surprises prepared for the visitors, but I will leave you all to discover them, once you will attend the event.

If you plan to visit Brick and Treat event, please do consider the following:

- Best tickets deals are online, so check their site for more details.

- There is no need to bring any snacks or drinks, they have their own coffee shop with Starbucks coffee :-) for the parents and tasty sandwiches, build your own pizza, drinks and snacks for kids.

- As for the extra clothes (jackets & others), there are free hangers or lockers, which you can rent for $5.

- Strollers: they are stroller friendly, but with so much going on, there is no need to bring them.

- Come prepared to stay for couple of hours, the kids will have a blast and you, can enjoy a great book or just hang around!

- And last, bring some money with you, because the exit from the play area takes you to the Lego store and for sure the kids would love some souvenirs  don’t say I have not warned you :-)

I hope you will consider Brick and Treat at Chicago Legoland Discovery Center a perfect location for your Halloween bucket list.
