Jack's Pumpkin Glow Review

By Marcela Naste, publisher for Schaumburg - Hoffman Estates October 16, 2019

We’ve been lucky enough to be invited to visit the Jack’s Pumpkin Glow event, last weekend, in Lisle. I have seen a few pictures and videos online and I was very curious to see how they look like in real “person”.

The stroll itself can take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes; for this reason, the tickets are sold every 30 minutes, so that the visitors can have a relaxing walk and admire the pumpkins and the displays.

Many of the pumpkins are real pumpkins and others are molded from real pumpkins and then hand carved by talented artists. The organizers are saying that the trail is filled with over 5,000 hand carved jack o’ lanterns.

You will find life-size pumpkin sculptures, classic Halloween characters, fairytale princesses, superheroes, dinosaurs, pirates, jelly fishes, musicians, and movie stars.

Jack’s Pumpkin Glow is a family friendly event also featuring fall food and beverages and live demonstrations with their carvers!

A few tips while planning to attend the exhibit:

- Being such a unique event, it’s a bit crowded, and since its opened in the weekends only, from Thursdays until Sundays, until Oct 27th, 2019; do come at least with 30-45min ahead your planned time frame.

- Buy your tickets online and check the available time frames. Don’t forget you can use our code MACKIDSCHGLOW for 20% Off Regular Adult & Kids Tickets*. Valid thru 10/27/19. *Excludes Anytime Tickets: https://glowpumpkin.com

- And yes, do dress accordantly for fall evenings; if it rained with 1-2 days ahead, it may be a bit muddy, so take your boots. There are areas where the umbrella strollers may be affected by hay, added on the ground to avoid the muddy areas, so do bring proper strollers. I personnaly had some struggles with mine :-)

- For best pictures, set your camera for the nighttime setting, so you can capture the Glow of the Kack o’ lanterns. And don’t use the flash too often, as your pictures will not turn out well.

- Prior entering the trail, there is a photo op; the prices are acceptable, and the pictures can be picked up once you finish your walk. Smile! :-)

I hope you will enjoy Jack’s Pumpkin Glow event, as much as we did! Don’t forget while posting your photos, to use the following hashtag for our city: #pumpkinglowchicago
