Being mom is 100% job, but we all find time for our passions. What are yours and how do you juggle with them?
My passion has always been working with children. After being a stay-at-home mom for 10 years, I returned to work as an instructional assistant in my daughters’ school district. I love my job because it allows me to have a healthy work/life balance, while also pursuing my other passion—crafting. I launched my business, CraftyMomofTreasures about a year ago and design custom t-shirts, hoodies and key chains. I also create a variety of fun, whimsical designs to sell at local craft fairs. My avocado keychain design is one of my favorites!
What is something you especially proud of?
I am proud of balancing work, family and my business. I also feel proud whenever I’m able to help my friends and fellow moms. It feels good when my friends appreciate me. Q—What quality do you most admire in a mother? Patience—something my own mom showed me growing up. I also always admired her loving nature.
Describe your family.
I have two daughters—Shreya, 11 and Ashley—8. It’s so much fun watching them grow up into bright, remarkable young ladies with their own ideas and interests. I also have a loving husband Nitin. I couldn’t do any of this without his support and encouragement! Finally, we have a mischievous, but adorable beagle, Daisy who keeps me active with frequent walks.
What do you love to do with your girls?
I love doing movie nights with them and exploring new places, both in our community and throughout the U.S. We take a lot of road trips and most recently went to Great Wolf Lodge and we had lot of fun.
What is your greatest wish for them?
Like any parent, I hope they find success and happiness when pursing their dreams and passions. But above all, I want them to be kind.
