What are 3 words that best describe you?
Affectionate, loving and patient.
Being a mom is 100% job, but we all find time for our passions. What are yours and how do you juggle with them?
Now that I am a mom I agree with this statement. I could say that my “passion” right now is SCHOOL! I am finally in the nursing program!!! Finding time for a “different” passion now is a bit challenging. Having a 14-month-old baby and being full time in school could be a little bit chaotic at times and juggling both has its challenges. I am just lucky to have such wonderful people in my life who have been very supportive and who have been helping to care for my son all this time. I thank God that I have a loving husband who provides for the family, so I can stay home and care for our baby boy while finishing my nursing degree.
Who were/are your role models? Who did you look up to when you were younger? Who do you look up to now?
Growing up I had my parents as my role model. I did look up more to my dad though, because he has been a great dad, always there for my brother and I, making sure our needs were always met, and he also kept secrets better than my mom ever did (hahahaha). I looked up to him because he is an honest man, always pushed me to want more from life and guided me into the person I am today. I still look up to him today, but I also have many other wonderful people in my life who inspire me every day and who I consider role models for different reasons.
What quality do you most admire in a mother?
In my opinion being patient is one of the qualities I most admire in a mother. It is unbelievable how such a tiny person sometimes can push every single button, but we still find the strength to not lose our patience and still smother them with lots of love. Mothers love their children, and that cannot be described in words.
What is something you are especially proud of?
What is something that I am proud of? being Edward’s mom! Nothing compares with this accomplishment. Of course, there are other things that I am proud of such as having a loving husband who loves his family so much, and I am also very proud that I finally found the courage to go back to school to pursue my nursing career.
How did your life change since having your little boy?
In order to better answer your question, I would have to give you a little story about my journey to having my little boy. For years I have been battling infertility, and my journey to having my son hasn’t been an easy one. I have never shared my infertility story out in the public before… only our family and close friends knew about our struggle. After about 5 years of trying to conceive, having numerous tests and failed treatments, my husband and I finally agreed that it was time to sick out help from an infertility specialist. This is how our IVF journey began. On Monday, October 19, 2017, my husband and I were heading out to the hospital, where our lives would change forever - sure enough 5 days later I was PREGNANT!!!! Our son was born on June 15, 2018 via c-section and our lives have never felt more complete. Of course, our lives have changed 100% since having little Edward, there is so much more responsibility now that we have a child… There is less “me” time, you become a morning person (doesn’t matter if you only slept for a few hours - baby doesn’t really care - hahaha), you also don’t mind going to bed at 9 o’clock on a Friday night; you take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you’ll be late, and you find yourself wanting to make this world a better place - in conclusion you view the world with different eyes and we can only thank God that he has sent us our little boy who has been such a great blessing in our lives.
What’s your favorite thing to do with your kid?
My most favorite thing to do is cuddle my baby Eddie loves to give mommy lots of kisses when he wakes up in the morning. Of course we have other favorites as well such as playing, going out for walks, reading books, playing with water, dancing (Eddie loves music), but we also love to meet up for play-dates with mommy’s girlfriends and their babies.
