Who is Anna? Describe yourself in 5 words!
Caring, respectful, empathetic, supportive and organized.
Being mom is 100% job, but we all find time for our passions. What are yours and how do you juggle with them?
I love to travel. Even though I have a part time job as a nurse, I am a business owner and I am a mom on a daily basis, we still find time as a family to travel. I call it a “me time”. Seeing all these amazing places, different cultures, and beautiful views, gives me strength for the next time around.
What is something you especially proud of?
There are many things that I am proud of.
First, I got my nursing license in 2015, which was the hardest thing I ever done in my life. Especially, that my son was born that year and I still manage to get it done.
Second, two years ago I've become a new business owner of an indoor playground called Kids Club & Party in Schaumburg. Its a big challenge, but such a rewarding career. My sister is my partner, and without her, I would never be able to do it on my own. We struggled at the beginning, but seeing all the kids so happy during our events, tells me it was all worth it. I hope this way I can show my children that hard work and dedication pays off. I hope they will learn that it is ok to dream big and not to give up.
Lastly, I am proud of being a mom. It is the hardest “job” I ever done in my life. All the heartaches, anxieties, and being helpless so many times, adds up when you become a parent. Being responsible for another human being is a heavy baggage, but it gives me so much joy. That's what keeps me going!
What advice would you give to your younger self at age 20? 30?
I have few š* Everything happens for a reason. *Trust your instincts. *Don’t try hard with people. *Have faith in yourself. You can do it!
What quality do you most admire in a mother?
I think it is a never-ending list - hard working, patient, kind, tolerant, forgiving, understanding, responsible, compassionate, caring, and loving. These values should be a strong foundation of every mother. I am still working hard to get these values in place in my own life.
You have a boy and a girl, how challenging is to raise them; what are your tricks?
I have a four-year-old boy named Jacob and two-year-old girl named Amelia. I am not sure if I have any tricks. Every day I feel I like I am failing at being a mom. But at the end of the day, when I see their pretty faces asleep, I know I managed. I think the best trick is to take one day at the time. Kids are unpredictable and taking a step back could be the best you can do for them and your sanity.
What is your greatest wish for them?
I wish I could teach my children to believe in people and not to hold grudges, how to be respectful of others, how to be a strong person, but positive on the other way, how to motivate other people, how to be honest, and how to forgive others.
