You know the Library is jam packed with books and movies, but did you know we have a wide array of kits to entertain your children? We have numerous toy kits filled with jigsaws, memory games, puzzles, board games and toys to keep kids busy at the library - or check out a kit and bring the fun home. All the kits are labeled with the recommended ages, and some start as low as age 2. This is a great way to keep kids who love to try new and different types of play engaged.
We also have STEAM kits available for older kids, generally starting around age 5, for your child to increase their science, technology, engineering, arts and math skills. These kits can involve creating anatomy models, discovering geology, building telescopes or controlling robotics through an app on your phone. The STEAM kits are great tools to encourage learning in a hands-on, creative way.
Sensory kits are available for in-library use. If your child gets overstimulated with all the activity in our kids Zone, you can use the sensory kit to ease any anxiety or stress. These kits come with fidgets, noise-cancelling headphones and sensory toys like time turners and squishy balls. Ask for the sensory kit at the kids Zone desk.
